Grants and Fixed Asset Accountant
Oregon Tech is seeking applications for a Grants and Fixed Asset Accountant in the Business Affairs Department. This is a 12-month, full-time position located on the Klamath Falls campus in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
he successful applicant is expected to perform the complex accounting and financial functions for programs funded by grants, contracts and/or special revenue. Duties are to include financial and reconciliation services for grants and contracts; preparation of journal vouchers; invoicing and managing applicable accounts receivable; serving as an accounting technical information resource to faculty and staff for grants and contracts; and ensuring compliance with cost accounting standards, as well as Federal, State and Agency rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with CPA or PA certificate; OR Bachelor’s degree with 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of college-level Accounting, OR 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of Accounting courses and three years of Accounting experience (see posting online for more information). Experience with ERP systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to questions from parties internal and external to the University. Knowledge of or ability to understand OMB circulars applicable to sponsored projects and other federal and state requirements. Attention to detail. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office, accounting software and standard office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: Grant accounting experience, Banner experience and experience in a Higher Education setting.
